Excerpts from Bella's 4th Birthday

Bella's birthday was a resounding success. All she wanted was to ride the ponies at the Farm and see the animals. So we met our family there and made an afternoon out of it. Following is a photo documentary of the event with little excerpts from the day.

Yep, we made the cake!
Bella loves her grandpa! Now Harry's favorite word is "Gampa, gampa."

She introduced herself to the pony - just to be polite.

We love our Grandma Mary. Thanks for coming guys.

In her prayers:

"....guide me because I'm 4 now."

"I want the smallest pony."

"Walk with me....." "Don't walk with me."

"Mr. Peacock can you spread your feathers for me."

Motherhood in all its glory...

I hope there are mothers out there who can identify with days like this. Days I affectionately refer to as "What in tarnation?" days (and yes, that is the edited title).

It began with a small walk around the block, beautiful day, happy kids etc. It ended with Harrison having a bowel movement on the floor and before I could get there he shoved some in his mouth. He spit it out of course but oh my gosh?!

While I am cleaning him up in the bathroom, Bella takes it upon herself to try to stick a barbie in her birthday cake that we spent all afternoon trying to make.

Sandwich this with Bella locking Harry inside the bedroom door, which we don't have a key too and him screaming and knocking on the door to be let out while I try to break in through the window, which for the record, isn't a graceful sight.

Motherhood is a beautiful thing, I kept reminding myself as I was scrubbing the floor. Anyway, I could laugh or cry. I personally thought it was pretty hilarious.

Hair cuts...

It was time to remove the mullet. But that is all I would let them cut. This is the hair God gave him from the womb and.....well, I can't part with it.

Good thing that was all we were cutting too....he wasn't too happy.
Bella on the other hand has been begging to go this place to have her hair cut for 2 weeks, so I finally gave in. She has her own sense of style and attitude. Love it!
And this is the end result. Adorable no matter what.

Family Night...

Bella took this picture herself - what do you think?
She asked for a camera for her birthday - she's 4 for cryin' out loud!!
She does take great pictures though.
I mean really, look at these pictures. How does she do it?

Harrison loves his Wagon. In and out, back and forth, it doesn't matter as long as he is around it. He loves pushing Bella in it too.

Bella was in charge of music and photography. She did splendidly!

Grandparents...

Not to detract from Kent's amazing accomplishment, but I thought I would blog again today about the grandparents of our kids. I cannot tell you how much I love and appreciate the grandparents of my kids. My mother is amazing and hillarious and generous beyond measure. My in-laws are incredible and wonderful and everything good that I want to be. They are my heroes and I love them more then words can say. They are such good people. And throughout Kent's entire graduation day, I would catch snippets of tender mercies taking place all around me. They adore my kids and the kids know that. They are such good examples of love and kindness. I thank my Heavenly Father every night for them.

Thank you for all you do. We love you always!
